Needing to relax from the stresses of life, I started pushing mylar through plastic fencing to focus on the bright parts of life.
As I imagined the scale of this project growing, I reached out to others through classroom visits to assist in its making. Experiencing the energy created in the room through conversation and the crinkling of material, I found the importance of simply creating a space for people to connect.
Not able to control everyone’s interaction with the material presented to them, I reflected on the control I take in my own life.
“Do I let go now that
I’m letting other people in?”
Fueled by the energy of the room, I continue to search for ways to spread joy to others.
